Getting Beat By Girls:

( A.K.A. - "Getting Chicked" )

So I was reading a running blog today, called "Frayed Laces."

I really like her blog, but notice that in her profile, she lists one of her interests as "beating guys in races."
So even though she lives 5 time-zones away from me, ( Honolulu, HI ) I decided that I'm sick of having girls finish ahead of me in races, ( Known in running circles as "getting chicked" ) and ones that take a keen interest in doing so are particularly annoying.

There is certainly no glory in beating girls, nor should there be shame in losing to them I suppose, especially white ones, but I'm making it my personal mission, and short-term goal, to top her 5K PR time of 22:19, which is currently far better than mine.

Although there are a few local females in my area capable of topping this, there are ONLY a few, and it is a very respectable time regardless of gender. Also I have to keep my goals realistic.

So her 5K PR pace is 7:10/mile. The next race I plan to run in is a 3.25 miler, ( Slightly longer than a 3.11 5K ) so a 7:10 pace would be 23:17, but I want to beat that, so I need a 23:16 in September.

Or a 22:18 if I decide to run a true 5K before then. This would be close to 2:30 better than my fastest 5K time, but I think I might be able to pull it off. It's a lofty goal, but not out of the question.

Although it's highly unlikely me and her would ever meet in the same competitive event, I'll continue to derive inspiration from unorthodox places.

I can already beat most of the niggers and non-Europeans around here, so I'll look around elsewhere for someone to light a fire under me.
