Home Run 5K Troy, NY
On June 21st, 2008 I ran in the 3rd annual "Valley Cat Home Run" 5K race organized out of Joe Bruno stadium, a baseball field which serves as a class "A" affiliate for the major league Houston Astros.
Surprisingly, Joe Bruno, a local politician whom the stadium is named after, announced his retirement a few days after this event.
This was my fastest 5K ever, I have set a new "PR" ( Personal Record ) in every single solitary 5K I have ever run in to date.
I even surprised myself in this one, because I beat my best time by over a minute and a half, yet found the course seemingly more challenging than the race I ran in just 6 days prior.
I used a GPS device during the run, ( An Adeo ) I think it helps greatly by whispering in your ear buds once a minute with updates on your pace, letting you know where you stand in relation to what you know you are capable of, so that you can adjust accordingly.
I'm sure if they knew a white preservationist were endorsing their product, they'd do the politically correct bullshit game and find something unpleasant to say about me, but I'd still tell the truth about it being a good product anyhow.
This one went off well, and I am very thankful there were no niggers or non-whites close in front of me as I approached the finish line because I really laid it all out for this one and to be honest, I don't know if I could have passed anyone giving me a significant challenge at the end.
There was one bald-headed white guy whom I passed right before the finish line, but I could tell from the noises emanating from his body that he was gassed out too, and incapable of out-sprinting me for the finish.
I didn't even have to look back to tell, I just knew, although ironically he had always been just in front of me for almost the entire race.
